[Model: Fender Contemporary Stratocaster]

Here’s the completed model of my electric guitar. I started by box modeling the large main parts like the body, neck and the head and then adding the detail parts later.

The part that took the most time doing was joining the neck and head together seemlessly into one object and trying to getting the geometry right, at the end I had to redo it a few times to get it the way I wanted.

I’ve really enjoyed modeling my guitar and looking forward to rendering it one day.

3D – Guitar Strap [WiP]

3D Guitar Strap [WiP]

This is a model of a guitar strap with some additional accessories like the strap holders and a few plectrums. I’ve added a noise modifier on the strap which roughens the edges slightly to help give that fabric look.

3D Guitar Pedal 3 [WiP]

Here is a model of a guitar effects pedal. I decided to do the inside part as well to give more interest to the piece and also gives an extra challenge. The logo was drawn in illustrator and then exported to 3Ds Max with extrude modifier applied to give that emboss look.

3D Electric Guitar 3 [WiP]

I’ve recently started modeling my electric guitar in 3D. Most of the body of the guitar is complete so it’s just the head and the neck left to do.

I did an illustration of my guitar a long time ago and since it’s a top view perspective it worked great as a reference image and what was also great was the export compatibility between Illustrator and 3D Studio Max.

My approach was to model the guitar as close to the real thing as possible, object to object and not taking many shortcuts in the modeling process. For example, by creating holes in the the scratchplate cover (which could of been left out), It adds more depth and detail to the overall model.
