Illustration – Xpad
Here is another old vector that was done several years ago on Freehand. This was created entirely from observation from a real object sat on my desk. Various layers of gradient were applied to give the impression of shiny reflective surface particularly on the dome and the buttons. Smaller transistion of gradients were applied on the less reflective rubber thumbsticks.
Illustration – Videotape
This is an old piece of work that’s been updated. The tape was created when I was in college and was done on Freehand instead of Illustrator, it has very similar tools but different interface. I think Freehand is pretty much obsolete now, but it was good to learn how to use it. I added the eerie looking background recently on Photoshop to give the videotape some character and interest.
