Illustration – Chief Hanky
Here’s a cartoon-like illustration just for fun. The character was drawn several years ago based on a keyring toy that I had but I’ve updated it with a few tweaks and added a background to give it a scene.
Illustration – Neigh Horsing About
This illustration piece was created using Gradient Mesh on the horse and different gradient and opacity settings to create the depth and shadows you see on the background. I’ve converted the text to outlines and used the Warp Tool to recreate the effects of uneven surfaces. The moral of this image is… don’t trust this horse!

Illustration – Ghost Orchid
Here is a illustration of a plant known as the Ghost Orchid. I like this particular plant as it has a unique shape that looks like some sort of an alien creature with arms and long legs. I set the opacity low to create a ghost-like appearance and placed in a dark atmospheric surrounding. I get the feeling this individual Ghost Orchid is doing a Fonzie impression…
Illustration – Past Reflection
This is an old illustration piece, one of my earliest vector work that was done while I was in 6th Form college. This was created with the aid of a reference photo that I took in college. The subject was looking at negative spaces. I think this piece still has a very contemporary look and feel.
Illustration – Danny
Here is an illustration of my friend Danny. I created using a reference at first and began making each part and placing it in its own layer. I used mainly the Pathfinder tool to divide objects up and Alignment tool to equal the spacings of the background stripes.
