3D – Electric Guitar > Body [WiP]
I’ve recently started modeling my electric guitar in 3D. Most of the body of the guitar is complete so it’s just the head and the neck left to do.
I did an illustration of my guitar a long time ago and since it’s a top view perspective it worked great as a reference image and what was also great was the export compatibility between Illustrator and 3D Studio Max.
My approach was to model the guitar as close to the real thing as possible, object to object and not taking many shortcuts in the modeling process. For example, by creating holes in the the scratchplate cover (which could of been left out), It adds more depth and detail to the overall model.

3D – Retro Microphone [WiP]
Here is a model of a retro style microphone. I like the look of old and vintage objects and this has a really nice shape and thought it would be a good challenge to model. Most of the parts were started from a box or a cylinder, I used the FFD modifier to readjust the mic head to a rounder shape.
The next stage will be to apply HDRI to create a nice realistic reflection on the microphone and then have it in focus with a blurred background to finish the scene.
3D – Vega Scene [WiP]
This is a scene that was inspired by a Games Character called Vega in the Street Fighter series. He is one of my favourite characters in the game, not to play as but more for his cool image. He’s famous for wearing a mask and a rather large claw.
I’ve tried to portray his personality though the various objects in the scene. He’s known for being vain and romantic with a psychotic and criminal background. I’ve re-used some of the objects that I made earlier to build his character up. The mask was created using plane modeling to form the shape.
3D – Perfume Bottles [WiP]
I’ve quickly modelled some perfume bottles that i’ve made up. I’ve used the Twist modifier on the left bottle, a geosphere to create the shape for the middle and Lathe modifier on the right bottle.
Once I’ve added the lighting and material they should render pretty well, especially with the reflection of the metal and the caustics created from the glass and liquid.
