{"id":2139,"date":"2014-01-25T00:13:12","date_gmt":"2014-01-24T23:13:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/raykit.co.uk\/blog\/?p=2139"},"modified":"2014-01-26T05:25:01","modified_gmt":"2014-01-26T04:25:01","slug":"graphics-logo-redesign-exercise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/raykit.co.uk\/blog\/2014\/01\/25\/graphics-logo-redesign-exercise\/","title":{"rendered":"Graphics &#8211; Logo Redesign Exercise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just as a fun exercise to see what I could come up with, I&#8217;ve redesigned the logo for a popular guitar-related forum that I frequently visit called The Gear Page or TGP for short.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/raykit.co.uk\/blog\/images\/raykitshum_logo_tgp_01.jpg\" alt=\"logo_tgp_01\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I tried to create a logo which was simple yet bold by using silhouette shapes. A dark blue colour was used to match with the colour palette of the forum.<\/p>\n<p>Since the forum is called The Gear Page, I wanted the logo to represent all the different sections within the forum such as amps, guitars and effects.<\/p>\n<p>Below are a few alternative design layouts.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/raykit.co.uk\/blog\/images\/raykitshum_logo_tgp_02.jpg\" alt=\"logo_tgp_02\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/raykit.co.uk\/blog\/images\/raykitshum_logo_tgp_03.jpg\" alt=\"logo_tgp_03\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/raykit.co.uk\/blog\/images\/raykitshum_logo_tgp_04.jpg\" alt=\"logo_tgp_04\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This last design came about after moving the silhouette shapes around and saw the circular gaps of the guitar pickup as a window frame for the other items.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/raykit.co.uk\/blog\/images\/raykitshum_logo_tgp_05.jpg\" alt=\"logo_tgp_05\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was fun coming up with a new design on an existing logo, my personal favourite would be the last one as it has a cleaner sleeker look and shows the different parts of the forum very clearly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just as a fun exercise to see what I could come up with, I&#8217;ve redesigned the logo for a popular guitar-related forum that I frequently visit called The Gear Page or TGP for short.
